The work behind the perspective
Dan Noma, Jr. has spent more than two decades building, operating, investing in, scaling, and ultimately exiting businesses across residential real estate, institutional investment, and real estate technology.
Over his 22-year career, Dan has been involved in more than $8 billion in real estate transactions, working across nearly every side of the industry—from individual homeowners and retail buyers to some of the largest institutional investors, private equity groups, and public companies in the country.
But the experience Dan brings to The Modern Agent Advisory goes well beyond transaction volume. He has built companies from the ground up. He has managed teams through periods of rapid growth. He has built technology. He has raised and navigated capital. He has worked with boards, institutional partners, public companies, private equity firms, investors, employees, sales teams, operators, and founders. He has completed three successful business exits. And he has experienced firsthand the challenges that come with trying to transform a successful real estate practice into an actual company.
That experience ultimately became the foundation for The Modern Agent Advisory.
From agent to entrepreneur
Dan grew up around real estate as the son of a successful builder and developer. He began personally investing in real estate at 18 and entered the industry professionally shortly thereafter.
Over the following two decades, his career expanded well beyond traditional residential brokerage. Dan became the designated broker and owner of Venture REI, an award-winning Arizona-based real estate brokerage and advisory firm specializing in residential real estate, investment property, development opportunities, and institutional transactions.
Throughout his career, Dan has personally participated in the acquisition, renovation, and disposition of more than 3,000 residential properties. But an even larger part of his career developed around what would become one of the fastest-growing institutional asset classes in American real estate: single-family rental.
For approximately 19 years, Dan and his organizations have worked extensively with institutional investors acquiring off-market and pre-MLS residential inventory. Dan and his teams have participated in the acquisition of more than 50,000 single-family rental properties across the United States on behalf of investors.
His clients and counterparties have ranged from individual investors and entrepreneurial operators to large institutional investment groups, hedge funds, private equity firms, and some of the largest owners of single-family rental homes in the country.

Infrastructure
As Dan's businesses grew, so did the complexity. He built organizations capable of supporting virtually every stage of the residential investment lifecycle.
This required more than simply becoming good at selling real estate. It required learning how to build teams, develop processes, manage people, measure performance, deploy technology, create accountability, allocate capital, and make decisions when the answers weren't obvious. Those lessons are central to how Dan advises business owners today.
Technology
In 2019, Dan created iReal Estate Pro, a professional certification designed to educate real estate agents on working with iBuyers and institutional investors.
The program was adopted by agents across 35 U.S. markets and reflected something Dan had already recognized: the role of the real estate professional was changing. Consumers wanted more options. Institutional capital was changing residential real estate. Technology was changing how transactions were originated, evaluated, managed, and closed.
In late 2023, Dan partnered with Fidelity National Financial to bring Easy Street Offers to the national marketplace. Easy Street Offers is a technology-enabled real estate platform designed to connect real estate professionals with investor demand and alternative selling solutions in a more organized and scalable way.
Building ESO required Dan to combine virtually every part of his prior career: real estate, institutional investors, technology, sales, operations, product development, capital, strategic partnerships, leadership, and scale. It also provided another education that cannot be learned from a business book: what it actually feels like to be the founder while the company is changing beneath you.
That belief continues to influence Dan's work today.
What Dan learned to build
Capital
Dan has worked through capital transactions involving two public companies and three private equity groups, gaining firsthand experience with the opportunities—and complexities—that come when outside capital enters a founder-led organization.
Some decisions were clear. Others were not. Dan learned along the way, often while simultaneously operating the business. That experience fundamentally changed how he thinks about advising other founders. Because raising money isn't simply about getting a check. Selling a company isn't simply about negotiating a price. And building something valuable isn't the same as building something large.
A profitable business and a valuable business are not necessarily the same thing.
A company becomes more valuable when it can operate beyond the founder. When financial reporting is strong. When customer acquisition is repeatable. When management exists. When systems exist. When revenue is diversified. When technology creates leverage. When the business can continue operating if the founder steps away. And when the owner has options. Dan believes more real estate entrepreneurs should be thinking about those things much earlier.
Why it exists
After completing his most recent business transaction, Dan found himself thinking about something he wished he had throughout his own career: an experienced operator he could call.
Not another course. Not another motivational seminar. Not someone who had simply studied entrepreneurship. Someone who had actually built companies, hired people, fired people, managed capital, negotiated transactions, implemented technology, dealt with partners, navigated boards, scaled operations, made mistakes, changed strategies, completed exits, and lived through the pressure of being responsible for the outcome.
That became the idea behind The Modern Agent Advisory.
More than coaching
Dan does not view himself as a traditional real estate coach. The Advisory is intentionally built around a different relationship. Dan works with a small number of entrepreneurial real estate leaders as a long-term strategic advisor. The goal isn't necessarily an exit. The goal is optionality.
Network
When the right relationship can materially help a member move forward, Dan may selectively make an introduction. The network is not a directory and introductions are never guaranteed.
The perspective
That breadth is ultimately what members of The Modern Agent Advisory are gaining access to. Not a theory about how companies should be built. Perspective earned by building them.
In his words
Build the real estate company you'd want to own for the next ten years. And have someone in your corner who understands what it takes to build it.
Dan personally reviews every applicant and every nomination. The goal is not to build the largest coaching community — it is to build the right room.
